CIRCULART II
Art interwoven with the supply chain.
Circulart – Città dell’Arte is a project that is part of Arte al Centro, a review of exhibitions and events by Città Dell’Arte – Fondazione Pistoletto, now in its twenty-third edition.
For one year, from the end of 2021 to the end of 2022, an itinerant journey through the most representative textile events will begin.
The purpose of the company visits is to introduce artists and various fashion designers to our products, processing procedures and use of innovative techniques and environmental resources of each of the partner companies.
After the sessions of visits, the 4 artists will be able to elaborate their ideas and make any specific requests for materials or information, useful for drafting their proposal.
They will then take part in a three-week residency at Città Dell’Arte to develop their projects.
The artists and fashion designers, have ventured between the warp and weft of the life cycle of textile and clothing production, and have been the unexpected lenses through which the public can observe the processes of textile production, generating new attitudes towards the products we buy.
Through their works, the artists and fashion designers constantly dialogue with the supply chain of the textile industry, which is itself part of the valorization process that Città dell’Arte and its partners conceived for the project.
The pure and unprecedented reading of industrial reality by the artists, will serve to outline and reveal, in 4 original works of art, new design paradigms based on ethics and circular economy. Works that wants to inspire not only the textile industry, but all productive sectors, to realign their activities with the ultimate promise of doing business: to respond to the real needs of humanity.
Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto is a non-profit organization established in 1998 in Biella by the artist Michelangelo Pistoletto.
Cittadellarte is a new model of artistic and cultural institution that places art in direct interaction with the various sectors of society.
